Beef, Dairy, and Goats Oh My! Casey's Busy SAE Project

I had the wonderful privilege to work with Casey for the past 15 weeks while in Gettysburg! She is a hard-working student who is very involved in 4H and the FFA! We were able to not only work together during class but also get to know each other on the various field trips we went on throughout the semester. Casey always updated me on all of the new animals she acquired for her FFA SAE project and also her 4H projects as well! I was so thrilled to be able to visit Casey's farm during my last week of student teaching!

Casey keeps accurate records of her animals in order to prepare for the summer fairs/auctions. Before the visit, we talked about her day-to-day responsibilities and how she can connect the content from her classes to her projects at home!

When I arrived at the farm, it was clear to see that she has her hands full! As she showed me her various animals, it was clear to see that Casey has a huge passion for the animal industry. We talked about some of her future goals and how she can use her skills learned through her SAE project in the future. Casey would love to be a 4H extension agent in the future to share her love for the agriculture industry! We talked about extending her SAE project to intern with the local extension agency to gain that perspective for a summer! Casey certainty has a bright future and I am so happy I was able to visit her amazing SAE project!
